Drivers have been told to expect further delays in Powys due to abnormal loads travelling to the Hendy Wind Farm site in Radnorshire.

New components for the controversial site began transportation on Tuesday, August 31 - originally from Ellesmere Port in England but this time from Wrexham to the site near Llandegley - and are still ongoing warns Dyfed-Powys Police.

Escorted by Dyfed-Powys Police, delays are expected around Newtown, Rhayader and Llandrindod Wells on the A470 as well as near Crossgates around the site on the A44.

Setting out from Wrexham between 9.30am and 9.45am and travelling along the A483, the components will arrive at Welshpool between 10.30am and 10.45am, Newtown between 11am and 11.45am, Rhayader on the A470 between 1pm and 1.45pm, Llandrindod Wells between 1.45pm and 2.15pm, and finally the Hendy Wind Farm site on the A44 between 2.30pm and 3.15pm.

Dyfed-Powys Police, who have been escorting the “abnormal loads” have regularly tweeted about the different routes through north and mid Wales to the wind farm site - of which the entrance is pictured below - meanwhile Traffic Wales has previously asked motorists in the area to “plan ahead and expect delays” to their journies.

Sergeant Matthew Thomas of the force said: “We thank the public for their continued patience and understanding. Please see daily updates on the

@PowysRPU Twitter page.”
