WALES’ education minister and Brecon and Radnorshire AM Kirsty Williams will be visiting the new Like Work But Different co-working office and conference centre tomorrow (Friday, May 3).
This environmentally friendly conference venue and green working hub is located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, just five miles east of Crickhowell.
Host Ian Mitchell said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Kirsty, as well as anyone else who wants to experience a greener way of working”.
Tomorrow the centre will be open for any local workers, businesses or entrepreneurs to drop-in, between 11am and 4pm. Free tea, coffee and cakes and lunch are available.
Kirsty Williams is the Welsh Assembly Minister for Education and represents the Brecon and Radnorshire constituency for the Welsh Liberal Democrats.
Hosts Ian and Jackie Mitchell moved their software, training and consulting business from Bath to Wales five years ago. LWBD, they say, offers a unique location to have meetings in.
Ian says: “We want you to have a productive and inspiring meeting, and there is no better place than here in the heart of the countryside.
“We have all the facilities you’d expect from a meeting location – whiteboards and projectors, coffee and parking, but there’s more to a meeting than the facilities. What we offer is inspiration. A chance to get away from the office, and take in the beautiful countryside. Listen to the birds, smell the flowers, and soak up the atmosphere.
“If the weather is suitable, just sit down at one of the meeting tables we have hidden around the farm, and have your meeting right there. We’ll give you some flasks of coffee, and maybe even Welsh cakes.
“No problem with getting a meeting room: if you book the whole office, then they are all yours.
“And if sitting down doesn’t appeal, then have a walk around. We have 45 acres of our own ground to explore, and we’re right in the heart of the Black Mountains, in the Brecon Beacons National Park, so there are lots of great walks, right from the office door.”
That’s the difference at Like Work But Different. Their architect-designed converted agricultural building provides office, co-working, training and conference spaces.
With a range of facilities, the whole venue can be booked for team meetings, away days or training events, or individuals can work in comfort on their own projects.
Why green? It’s carbon negative – using electricity generated on-site through hydroelectric and solar PV installations, and renewable source heating.
