TWO picnic tables have been donated to a school in Talgarth.

Ysgol Y Mynydd Du received the two round wooden tables with seating from the Black Mountains Lions Club.

Youth officer Pat Holmes, secretary David James and Cheryl Hyde attended the school to present the new tables to the pupils.

Deputy head and year six teacher Tara Morgan said: “We’re extremely grateful for the donation from the Black Mountain Lions.

“Being at the early stages of development of the new school’s grounds, its good that we can now provide the children with much needed seating areas to relax and chat with their friends while they’re on their breaks.

“We are excited for the future development of the school and we want to stay a huge thank you to the Brecon Lions for the boost to start us off.”

While the school already has a couple of benches in the playground, it wanted more to accommodate all of the pupils.

The Black Mountain Lions Club, which also recently donated £400 to Brecon’s War Memorial Hospital for equipment, donated £500 to the primary school to cover the new outdoor facilities.
