The pupils of Franksbridge Community Primary School have created an eye-catching and patriotic mosaic - which now takes pride of place on the school building.

The pupils had the pleasure of working alongside ceramic artist, Jody McPartlin (Stonefield Glass) to create the artwork.

The mosaic was designed and created as a wellbeing project in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The children chose ‘Cymru’ as the subject to express their sense of Cynefin or belonging. The pupils, who are working towards the Welsh language Gwobr Arian award, included images that celebrate Welsh agriculture, industry, music, language and landscapes.

A spokesperson for the school said: “We are so proud of our Cymru mosaic. It is the first thing that visitors see when they come to our school and it shows them how proud we are of our beautiful country.”
