Pupils at Sennybridge County Primary School were visited by two very unusual visitors this Christmas.

Reindeer Thor and Alfie from Black Mountain Reindeer came along to the school on Thursday, December 16 to spread some festive joy to staff and pupils.

As well as the two reindeer, the school paid host to Father Christmas, who took time out of his busy schedule to drop by.

The children and staff dressed up as something festive, either in a costume or a jumper, and enjoyed a special Christmas dinner for lunch.

Due to not being able to do concerts, each class also created their own Christmas recording which was shared with parents.

Headteacher Ashley Bennett said:

“We organised for Black Mountain Reindeer to come to the school for the previous Christmas but this was stopped by Covid. This year the event took place!”

The children and staff has a fantastic time during the visit, which was kindly funded by the Sennybridge Parent Teacher Association

“The children and staff loved meeting Thor and Alfie the reindeer and learning about them,” said Mr Bennett.

“They even got the chance to meet Sion Corn and were given a Christmas present. The day was lovely and something magical.”

He added: “Well-being is a key area for education at this time and the visit from these wonderful reindeers and their festive handlers brought the Christmas cheer to Pontsenni.”
