A BRECONSHIRE schoolgirl has made her eagerly-awaited debut with the U16s South Wales hockey team. Emily James, a year 10 pupil at Brecon High School was handpicked to play for the regional side just recently following three days of trials at Pontypridd and Newport and was seen in action at Colwyn Bay on Saturday against North Wales and versus Surrey on Sunday. Emily has seen her game progress thanks to a wealth of experience with Brecon High, the county, Powys Panthers under the guidance of Graham Foxley and last but not least with Brecon Ladies who have been of particular help to Emily.
