Dunvant Male Choir, the oldest continuously singing male choir in Wales, is performing at Brecon Cathedral on Saturday, November 25 as part of its Tour of Wales which will see the choir sing in the six Anglican cathedrals of Wales between November 2023 and July 2024.

The first part of the tour in Brecon will see the choir perform with Brecon Male Choir.

The choir believes that it is the first male voice choir to have arranged a tour of the six cathedrals and is looking forward to entertaining audiences in every corner of Wales. The tour programme is varied and Dunvant Male Choir will share the stage with a range of artists including Rhys Meirion, Only Boys Aloud and Haverfordwest Male Choir.

The tour will end with a stunning Finale Concert in Swansea in July 2024. A month later the choir flies to America to perform in the North American Festival of Wales which will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, in August.

Other concerts include:

16th February 2024 St. Asaph Cathedral with Rhys Meirion at 8pm

17th February 2024 Bangor Cathedral with Rhys Meirion at 7.30pm

16th March 2024 St. Woolos Cathedral, Newport with Only Boys Aloud at 7.30pm

On the 4th July, Dunvant Male Choir will perform in a “Cymanfa Ganu” in Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff at 7.30pm.

The Tour of Wales Homecoming Concert and Dunvant Male Choir’s Patrons’ Concert will be held in Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 7pm and all of the artists who will be sharing the stage with Dunvant Male Choir on the tour will be invited to share the stage again in an exciting celebratory concert.

There is always a warm welcome for new choristers to join Dunvant Male Choir, but if you are considering joining a choir, there is no better time to join Dunvant Male Choir than at present, since you could be sharing the stage with existing members on the choir’s Tour of Wales and in the USA.

Those interested in joining the choir are invited to contact the Recruitment Officer on [email protected] or attend a rehearsal at Ebenezer Chapel, Dunvant Square at 6.45pm on any Monday or Wednesday.

The organiser of the tour is keen to hear from organisations and companies who might be interested in sponsoring one of the concerts or even the whole tour.
