Kathy began writing when her career with Age Cymru was cut short and she was left wondering what to do next. A short course in creative writing at Wyeside in Builth Wells run by Lara Clough gave Kathy the confidence and skills to begin a new career in her sixties and she hasn't looked back. Welsh press, Honno, gave Kathy a three-book deal and she is currently working on the third novel.

The Luck, set in 1930s America, is a character-driven page-turning family saga which grips the reader from the first chapter. The story charts the lives of two sisters and their respective love matches and the ways in which their destinies are interwoven... did they marry the wrong men? But there's much more to it. The novel is guaranteed to entertain and keep you awake in equal measure.

Kathy's released The Luck last year at a launch event at Llanwrtyd's Victoria Hall.
