A one-man band from Oregon in the United States is returning to Brecon this summer to perform his brand of savage folk music.

Arthur Buezo will perform at The Muse in Brecon on Saturday, July 18, presented by The Mid Wales Rhythm & Blues Club (MWR&BC).

Arthur first played for the MWR&BC in September 2024, for his very first show on UK soil, alongside Becky The Bullet Thomas, who filled the special guest act role on that occasion.

Just over a month later, he returned to play at The Muse and The Brecon Tap before returning home to the States, alongside the likes of Jack J Hutchinson and Michael Parker. This time, he returns alongside Becky once again.

Describing Arthur ahead of the gig, a spokesperson for the Mid Wales Rhythm and Blues Club said: “Arthur Buezo appears pretty much as his posters and merch might suggest: hat, drum and banjo/guitar are what you see. He is a one-man band with the right leg on bass drum, the left on tambourine and both hands gripping the stringed instruments. All of which is enhanced by use of looper and even bespoke effects pedals to his acoustic instruments.

“He played through 17 numbers without break. This is what he calls ‘Savage Folk’, born of his migration from the Appalachians to Oregon where he has some land and a solar powered studio in an old shipping container. On his travels he’s picked up many styles, meaning he bends and blurs genres from classical to Mexican into the blues making for an eclectic Americana.”

Tickets for the performance can be purchased online for £15 per person. To book, visit: www.ticketsource.com/mwrbc/mwr-bc-presents-the-return-of-arthur-buezo-with-sga-becky-the-bullet-thomas/e-djrrvj

The performance on Saturday, July 18 begins at 8pm and will end at approximately 11pm.
