A concert will be held this summer in aid of a closure-threatened rural school.

On Sunday, August, 14, a concert will take place Treforgan Farm Dolau, by kind permission of David and Heather Lewis and family.

A BBQ will begin at 6pm together with the bar opening and all are welcome to attend.

The concert, which will be held in a marquee, will begin at 7pm and will feature Rhayader & District Male Voice Choir together with many other local performers.

All funds raised will be donated to Dolau Primary School and Diabetes UK.

Earlier this month, the Powys Cabinet went ahead with a decision to delay the closure of Dolau school until August 31, 2023.

The Chairman of Rhayader and District Male Voice Choir, Mr Henry Thomas, said: “Our members are unanimous that we should show support for Dolau School, which has been under the dark cloud of closure for some considerable time.”

“The Choir is predominantly made up of rural choristers, who received their education in small rural schools, who realise the importance of such local hubs in the community.”

Admission to the concert is £10 and tickets are available from Julie on 07949799386 or Wendy on 07946369230.
