ERWOOD Bridge is to officially re-open on Tuesday, March 18 it has been confirmed.
The structure which connects the main Brecon to Builth Wells A470 to Radnorshire communities on the other side of the river Wye has been closed to all vehicles since last July.
It was anticipated the bridge would re-open for normal use by this June but contractors Dawnus Construction have completed the strengthening and refurbishment work three months ahead of schedule and within the budget allocated for the scheme.
Drivers have faced diversions of up to 20 minutes while the bridge has been closed to traffic.
Although the bridge has been closed to all vehicles, it has remained open for pedestrians through the duration of the works.
