ON a beautiful sunny afternoon an excellent number of visitors were attracted to Pontnewydd Garden Railway at Newbridge on Wye, when the event which has now taken place for several years, again raised funds for charity.
This year £500 has been raised for the Llandrindod Wells branch of Cancer Research, through open garden afternoons, a car boot sale, plus generous donations from friends, family and residents of Christchurch Court.
The Garden Railway owners Pat and Ivan Byng would like to thank their loyal helpers namely their daughter Lynda, plus Pat’s brother Brian, the chief engineer, neighbours Clive and Annettee Barrett, and friends Ann and Stirling Barsley. Thanks also to those who attended on the day.
