A former county councillor for Powys is celebrating the birth of five healthy lambs, which is a one-in-a-million chance.

Gwilym Williams, who has a farm in Blaenglynolwyn, Newbridge-On-Wye, Llandrindod Wells, said: “I was surprised to see she had five alive lambs. I have never had five alive before. We will have to supplement milk to the lambs to help the mother feed them.”

The mother is a cross Texel, which is known for its muscle development and leanness.

It’s the first time Gwilym has encountered a sheep giving birth to five healthy lambs.
