A FARMING family has denied a pungent smell is the result of digester that turns organic waste into energy - but promised action. The Jones family run Great Porthamel Services (GPS) at their farm near Talgarth and last year installed an anaerobic digester that produces energy from animal waste fed into the digester, which is an odourless process. But in recent weeks a pile of old organic waste, which was to be spread on the farm, has led to complaints about the smell. Paul Jones of GPS said it is now in the process of obtaining a licence to feed the older waste into the digester. For more on this story see this week's Brecon & Radnor Express - on sale now
