The annual tractor run in support of Hundred House Village Hall took place on Sunday, May 11, with 89 participants taking part, including a mix of tractors and 4x4s.

The event saw participants travel from across the region, including Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Ceredigion, raising almost £1,300 to support the hall's upkeep.

Organised by Mervyn Price and his team, the scenic route took participants through the picturesque Cregina moorlands before reaching Aberedw, where local residents and pub-goers stopped to watch the procession. The convoy then followed the B4567, continuing along the Wye Valley to Erwood Station, where they turned onto the old railway line, heading towards the dinner stop at Llanstephen, generously hosted by Mr Alan Bowen and his family.

After the meal, the run resumed, heading south towards Boughrood to Boughrood Brest, then taking a right turn to Glanwye, following the byway along the banks of the River Wye. The group passed the swimming swans before reaching Glasbury. From there, the procession continued north via Ffynnon Gynydd, traversing over the Begwyns to Painscastle. Here, they turned by the Roast Ox to take the mountain moorland road over Rhulen Hill to drop down to Rhulen, before turning left to Cregina and back to Hundred House and the hall for a well-earned cup of tea.

Following a raffle, Mark Hulin Taylor, a member of the village hall committee, took the opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to all those who had contributed to the success of the event. In his speech, he gave thanks to Mervyn, his team, the marshals, and the volunteers who provided refreshments at both the hall and dinner stop, as well as to all the participants who made the event such a success, all in aid of raising vital funds for the upkeep of the village hall.
