Three charities have benefited from more than £6,000 raised by the Welsh National Tractor Road Run (WNTRR).
On Saturday, September 6, representatives from Wales Air Ambulance, Cardigan First Responders, and Crymych First Responders gathered at Awenfryn, Glanrhyd, to receive £2,018 each from the proceeds of the annual event, which moves around Wales each year.
WNTRR co-founders, brother and sister John and Anne Bates, approached Dai Rees, who formed a small committee under the name North Pembrokeshire Tractor Enthusiasts, including Alun Owens, Keith and Kevin Evans, Sion Morgan, and Peter Lewis, to organise the Run.
The committee chose to support charities serving the immediate local area of North Pembrokeshire and South Ceredigion.
On hand to receive the cheques recently were Ann Evans of the Wales Air Ambulance, Glyn Vaughan of Crymych First Responders and Gareth Hands and Jason Davies of the Cardigan Mid & West Wales Fire Service as the Cardigan First Responders.

Held on Sunday, June 15, the eleventh running of the event attracted more than 260 tractors, which gathered at Glanrhyd for a 35-mile tour of North Pembrokeshire and the Preselis. The route started from Awenfryn, Glanrhyd, by kind permission of the Evans family, taking in spectacular coastal views and the region’s scenic countryside. Communities visited included Monnington, Croes-y-Fran, Moylgrove, Ceibwr Beach, Berry Hill, Newport, Cwm Gwaun, Pontfaen, with a lunch stop at Penralltddu, by kind permission of the Davies family, before continuing through Croes Ffordd, Greenway, Bwlch Gwynt, Tafarn-y-Bwlch, Llwynhirion, Felindre, Post-Goch, and returning to Awenfryn.
The WNTRR and the North Pembrokeshire Tractor Enthusiasts would like to thank all of the participants, marshals, helpers and sponsor for making this year’s event event another great success.
Next year, the Welsh National Tractor Road Run will take place at the Lleyn Pennisula and Pwllheli on Sunday, May 31.
