POLICE have issued the driver of a £200,000 sports car with a £100 on the spot fine - for not displaying a licence plate.
The driver of the Ferrari 458, which is capable of a top speed of 201 miles per hour and can nip from zero to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds, was pulled over by Dyfed-Powys Police officers on the A470 in Brecon.
They had noticed the sleek, red Italian made sports car was being driven without a front licence plate on Friday, June 29. The driver told police it had fallen off.
However the officers still issued the £100 fixed penalty fine for failing to display a front registration plate.
Officers from the Brecon Road Policing unit then warned other motorists with a message on the @BreconRPU Twitter account stating: "Please ensure your registration plates are legal and displayed correctly".
In response to queries on Twitter officers stated drivers who continue to commit registration plate offences can face further action from the DVLA.
Later on Friday officers issues further £100 fixed penalties, one to the driver of a Subaru car with a front licence plate that was smaller than the minimum size and another to the driver of a Peugeot who was displaying a standard licence plate in the front window, on the dashboard, rather than its usual position.
