A fifth victim has been identified and a sixth body recovered from the remains of the house that burned down in Llangammarch Wells in the early hours of October 30.
It comes after police named four victims at the beginning of this month. The fifth victim identified is a six-year-old boy called Patch Raine.
Previously police named 68-year-old David Cuthbertson and three other children - boys Just Raine, 11, and Reef Raine, 10, and nine-year-old girl Misty Raine - as victims of the blaze. All of the victims are said to be from the same family unit.
In a Dyfed-Powys Police statement released this afternoon, Police Detective Chief Inspector Martin Slevin said: “Sadly I can confirm that a fifth body, recovered from the scene, has now been positively identified as six-year-old Patch Raine.
“A sixth body has been recovered from the scene but has not yet been formally identified. Scientific examinations are ongoing to achieve this. Our hearts go out to the family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them.”After the blaze in October, police investigating the incident said they believed they were looking for the bodies of one adult male and five children. The bodies have been so badly burnt it is not until now that all six bodies have been recovered and police will need DNA testing to identify the last body. The coroner won't open an inquest until all the dead are identified.
