The construction company building Brecon’s new library and renovating the shire hall are hosting an event to give the public more information about the project.
Known as the Cultural Hub the project, which has cost around £10m, will renovate the museum and art gallery and provide a new area library, community and education facilities.
Visitors will be given a chance to see progress at the site and hear about the construction of the new library and other facilities, as well as the renovation of Brecon’s Shire Hall.
Project contractors Kier will hold a two stage event at the site and the town’s library on June 6 from 5pm.
Visitors will learn about key features of the project and be given information about the next stages of the project. Layout plans and designs will be available to view setting out what the hub will provide.
Information for the events, which will start at the site in Glamorgan Street from 5pm and the library from 6pm, will include information from all project partners, including Powys County Council, Brecknock Museum & Art Gallery, Kier Construction, Powell Dobson (architect), DesignMap (Museum Interpretation), Brecknock Society & Museum Friends and Brecknock Art Trust.
Powys county council strategic director place, Paul Griffiths said: "We really hope people will come along and take the opportunity to discover more about the project from the Kier team, ask questions and find out how to become involved – all are welcome."
