KINGTON firefighters completed their ‘Everest climbing challenge’ during Kington Vintage Show.
This required them to climb a fire service ladder enough times to reach the equivalent of the summit of Mt Everest – or 29,029ft (8,848m).
In all during the challenge they climbed the ladder, which was fixed to a scaffolding tower at the show, 1,106 times!
The firefighters carried out the exhausting feat to raise money for the Firefighters Charity, Midlands Air Ambulance and St Michael’s Hospice.
