HAY-ON-WYE is the latest town in Powys where a foodbank scheme has been launched.
The Hay Community Cupboard will provide food, household items and toiletries in times of hardship.
The confidential service is run by eight trustees and those in need can contact the service on the 07908 876978 special hotline number. Referrals can also be made from other agencies like GPs, social services, charities and schools.
Foodbanks already operate in the Knighton area, Llandrindod Wells and Ystradgynlais.
