THE new Star Wars film has awakened powerful forces between a Breconshire bottle shop and a brewer.
Letting the Force be with them, Beer Revolution in Hay and the Odyssey Brewery over the border in Herefordshire formed a rebel alliance to produce two limited edition brews.
The ales are inspired by Star Wars’ portrayal of a galactic battle between good and evil in the new film The Force Awakens, released on December 17, and the two opposing sides of the mystical ‘Force’.
‘The Dark Side’ is a rich, smooth coffee milk stout brewed with Bolivian beans from Peter James Gourmet Coffee in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
Meanwhile ‘And The Light’ is an ultra-pale and unfined session beer, powerfully hopped with American hops.
The bottles will join the range of modern, interesting beers at the pioneering Beer Revolution, which celebrated its first birthday last month.
The shop’s Rob Eveleigh said: “Alongside our rebel allies in Hereford we’re proving a force to be reckoned with.
“With Odyssey at the helm, we’ve produced two outstanding beers, all timed to coincide with our first birthday, and the release of The Force Awakens.
“Rest assured - these ARE the beers you’re looking for.”
Paul Brinkworth, from the Hereford branch of CAMRA, added: “It’s wonderful to see two excellent local businesses working together to create something new and interesting and I’m sure these beers will go down a storm; I’ve got a good feeling about this.”
