THE Hundred House Show was an excellent family day out with fine weather and keen competition in all sections.
These were the comments of the Show President Diane Davies who went on to say that she was delighted to have been invited to be the President for the 2018 show.
The event proved to be a large draw with hundreds of people attending, some travelling great distances to be there. The show was held at Lower Llaneon, Franksbridge by kind permission of Stephen Williams.
There were large entries in the sheep and dog sections of the show which together with the horse classes drew great interest. The event which has been running for over 60 years is still coming up with surprises for those that attended which included a wheelwrighting craft demonstration by Michael Davies of Llangyfrwys.
As well as stock and horticultural exhibits, vintage display, children’s sports, dog, sheep and horse shows there were craft demonstrations, plus various stalls, side shows and attractions.

The vintage vehicle display has grown in size over recent years and this year included cars, tractors and motorcycles with each of the exhibitors being presented with a commemmorative mug.
The barn saw a range of competitions including many classes for horticultural items including cookery, floral, farm produce and preserves and produce as well as children’s classes. There were fun and games with wheelbarrow racing and a obstacle course and an informal tug o’war across the brook.
