Brecon High School is celebrating another strong set of GCSE results, with the school reporting a third consecutive year of improvement.
Around a third of pupils achieved five A*-A grades, while the school’s Capped 9 performance also improved for the third year running.
The school said the results reflected high expectations, strong teaching and effective support from staff, alongside the hard work of pupils and families.
Headteacher Rob Edwards said: “We are delighted that around a third of our students achieved 5 A*-A grades and that we have secured a third consecutive year of improvement in both our highest GCSE grades and Capped 9 performance.
“Sustained improvement over three years is a significant achievement and reflects the hard work, resilience and ambition of our students, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families.
“We are incredibly proud of what our young people have achieved and the opportunities these results will create for their futures.”
Chair of Governors Rhiannon Evans said the results were a “testament” to the work of pupils, staff and families.
“Achieving improved outcomes for a third consecutive year is a significant milestone for the school, and the Governing Body is incredibly proud of all that has been achieved,” she said.
