A WOMAN in New Radnor has celebrated her 100th birthday.Liz Taylor, who had a surprise party laid on for her by the Womens’ Institute she attends and a pub lunch with her family, received a telegram from the Queen and bouquets of flowers. The centenarian, who is originally from Shropshire, turned 100 last Thursday. The grandmother of two, who has one daughter, also received letters from political figures congratulating her
on the milestone, such as the First Minister Carwyn Jones and the UK’s former secretary of state for work and pensions Esther McVey.
Ms Taylor’s daughter, Di Hill, said: “We all went to the pub in Pulverbatch and we came back to find the telegram and loads of
bouquets of flowers in the porch – it was really nice.”
According to Ms Hill, her mum’s tip for living to 100 is: “eat plenty and eat often, chew plenty basically.”
