THE 52nd Annual Lower Chapel Show and Speed Shear was held at Alltybrain Fields, Pwllgloyw on Saturday, August 11.

The show presidents, Mr and Mrs Trevor Morgans, had no need to wonder whether the threat of rain might reduce the numbers of visitors as the show was almost as busy as ever.

However, towards the end of the afternoon the rain became heavy and the speed shear was moved from its usual position to the horticulture tent, with the BBQ under a gazebo.

Although cramped there was a great atmosphere and many stayed late into the evening. Don’t forget the Sheepdog Trials at Coedmawr Farm from August 16–18 this week.
