A NUMBER of mystery artists disguised as Ninjas have been taking to the streets of Brecon, during Brecon Arts Festival, swooping on charity shops and creating art installations.

Volunteers at the Air Ambulance, Tenovus, Usk House and British Red Cross were startled to find artists wearing ski masks dashing in and taking over their shop windows.

Shirley Jones at the Air Ambulance shop in the Bulwark told The Brecon & Radnor Express: "It all happened so quickly. They just came in and filled my window with random found objects, sprayed blue. It's fantastic, we've had so many people wanting to buy the piece of art."

Dubbed Ninja Art in the festival programme, the stunt provided the British Red Cross shop in Lion Street with a giant cross studded with buttons, bead and shells. A dumfounded volunteer told The Brecon & Radnor Express: "One minute the art ninjas were here, the next they were gone. I'm not really an arty person but the cross is amazing. It's a neat as a shirt on a donkey."
