A SPECIAL football game has been staged to support a fundraising appeal inspired by a teenager's battle with cancer.

Members of Hay Junior Football Club took on a team of made up of their dads and coaches for a fundraising football match in which both teams donned fancy dress.

The game was held to support the Naina's Leg Fund - which was established to purchase a 'bionic leg' for 13-year-old Naina Dickens-Chauhan, of Llandefalle, near Brecon, who lost her leg due to complications from a rare form of bone cancer.

Sadly the Gwernyfed High School student died in May this year but her family, who attended the Saturday, July 13 match, have vowed continue the appeal to support others in a similar situation to Naina.
