THE famous book town of Hay-on-Wye is to get its very own community television station.

Internet based television channel Hay on TV encourages the border town's residents to get behind the camera lens to produce short films that put a wide range of local issues under the microscope.

The idea behind the quickly evolving new medium is the brainchild of internationally renowned documentary maker Tamara Gordon and IT expert Robin Gardner, who both live in Hay.
