Brecon Men’s Shed is organising an event at Brecon Volunteer Bureau during Men’s Health Week (June 12-18).

The event will take place on Saturday, June 17 from 10:30am to 1pm at Brecon Volunteer Bureau, The Vaults, Market Street, Brecon (LD3 9AH). The event is to highlight men’s health and to provide information and resources for supporting the well-being, physical, mental, and emotional state of men.

One man in five dies before the age of 65. Men will die on average 4.5 years earlier than women, and for reasons that are largely preventable. Which means that it doesn’t have to be that way - we can all take action to live healthier, happier and longer lives.

Men’s health encompasses a wide range of issues, including but not limited to prostate health, heart health, and mental health. It is planned to have representatives from different organisations and a wide range of resources available to support men’s health, as well as emphasising the importance for men to take care of their health by visiting the doctor regularly, eating a healthy diet, exercising, and managing stress. Please come along to find out more.

Brecon Men’s Shed is a friendly and welcoming meeting place for men to undertake a variety of activities, with the HQ being at Brecon Volunteer Bureau and meeting up on Saturday mornings at least twice each month.
