Nine in 10 adults in Powys have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures reveal.

Public Health Wales data shows 97,191 people aged 18 and over have been given both doses of a vaccine up to January 16 – 90% of the area’s adults.

They make up part of the 99,382 people who have been given at least one jab – 92% of the over-18 population.

Figures also show 2,321 16 and 17-year-olds in Powys (87% of the age group) and 4,452 12 to 15-year-olds (69%) had received a first dose by then.

The data for each age group in the area shows:

16 to 17 – 2,005 fully vaccinated (75%)

18 to 29 – 12,531 fully vaccinated (80%)

30 to 39 – 11,141 fully vaccinated (81%)

40 to 49 – 12,420 fully vaccinated (87%)

50 to 54 – 8,723 fully vaccinated (91%)

55 to 59 – 9,794 fully vaccinated (92%)

60 to 64 – 9,435 fully vaccinated (94%)

65 to 69 – 8,934 fully vaccinated (95%)

70 to 74 – 9,134 fully vaccinated (96%)

75 to 79 – 6,758 fully vaccinated (97%)

80 and over – 8,321 fully vaccinated (97%)

Across Wales, 2.3 million people have had both doses, equating to 85% of the over-12 population, while 2.5 million (91%) have had at least one dose and 1.8 million people (65%) have had a booster vaccination.

The rates have been updated using recently released 2020 mid-year population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
