A MAN from Talgarth is asking people around the UK, especially in the Powys area, to identify the WW2 soldiers in his photo.

Paul Pugh, aged 68, received the photo from a friend after realising his late father was pictured at the back, second from the left.

His father, Albert Ivor Pugh, won various medals serving with the South Wales Border in World War Two, he later entered the Royal Artillery. Based in Brecon, his army number was 4079505.

Paul said his dad never spoke about the war, but that he gained interest from learning about his great-uncle, David John, who fought in World War One.

He discovered this from looking into his family tree, which so far he has traced back to 1839, while using local resources instead of the internet.

If you have identified somebody in Paul’s photo, contact Ariane Brumwell at the Brecon and Radnor Express on 01874 610111 or by emailing [email protected].
