Two recent talks about the history of Newbridge-on-Wye have raised £1,300 for local good causes.

The talks were given by Pip Samuel at The New Inn. The first was held last November and the second was given at the beginning of March this year.

A presentation of the proceeds from the talks took place at the pub recently.

An impressive total of £1,300 raised, which was divided between Newbridge’s Christmas Lights, Newbridge Primary School and the local Carnival Committee.

Sian Elliott, landlady of The New Inn, kindly hosted both talks, which included buffets.

Before the presentation of the cheques, Ms Elliott thanked Pip for his history talks and for enabling funds to be raised for three worthy local organisations.
