BRECON and Radnorshire is getting ready to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The Queen's 60-year reign will be officially celebrated over the Diamond Jubilee weekend beginning Friday, June 1 with both Monday, June 4 and Tuesday, June 5 declared public holidays.

A Jubilee Jamboree funday will be held at the Llanfaes playing fields on Tuesday, June 5.
The free event will get underway from 2pm and will feature children's sports, a bouncy castle, an exotic animal display, face painting and music.
The event is supported by a grant from Brecon Town Council and is open to all.
Olympic Torch relay runner Colin Davies will also help get the celebrations underway while a special church service will be held at St David's Church, Llanfaes from 11am on the day.

Crickhowell
The town's High Street will be taken over by a giant street party on Sunday, June 3 with live music from lunchtime and finishing with fireworks at 10.30pm.
The day will also include a tug of war contest and even sedan chair racing while around 20 stall holders are expected to line the High Street.
A young families picnic is planned for the Jubilee Park on Monday, June 4 and a high tea, featuring a screening of the Queen's Coronation, will be held at the high school on Tuesday, June 5.
Hay-on-Wye
A carnival procession led by a samba band will leave the site of the Hay Festival and head to the Memorial Square where a party lunch will be held on Tuesday, June 5.
The celebrations at the Memorial Square will feature a number of games and competitions for children as well as an Open Mic session which will run all afternoon for anyone wishing to sing, play or recite something from the Coronation era.
Everyone is welcome to join in the carnival procession in fancy dress or otherwise. Floats should assemble at Brecon Pharmaceuticals car park and those on foot should meet at the festival site by 10.30am. Those bringing floats are asked to inform the organisers.

Residents in Brynawel Road are holding a street party on Saturday, June 2.
Knighton
A full day of events will take place on Monday, June 4 starting with a parade of vintage vehicles from each decade of the Queen's reign with pedestrians dressed in period costumes, parading through the town and into Bryn-y-Castell.
At the playing fields there will be tug-of-war and sports events, various entertainment including Punch & Judy show, free rides for children 11 and under on the fair roundabout and slide together with free rides for adults on a carousel.
There will also be a large display of local vintage items in the town's community centre with teas being served, and musical entertainment. The day will finalise with the lighting of the bonfires at 10.15pm and a large display of fireworks at 10.30pm.

Fashion and flowers will be the theme for Knighton's St Edward's church Diamond Jubilee celebrations. This will include floral arrangements depicting major events and wedding dresses and fashion from the last 60 years.
The event is being held from June 2-5.
Newbridge-on-Wye
A Diamond Jubilee fun day will be held on Monday, June 4 at local football ground, Penbont Field.
The fun starts from 2pm and will include sports such as five-a-side football, competitions and children's races, which start at 2.30pm, as well as a welly throwing contest and obstacle race.
There will also be vintage vehicle and craft stalls, memorabilia displays and a balloon release plus tea-party picnic, evening barbecue and licensed bar.
At 10pm a beacon will be lit on nearby Dol-y-Fan Hill.
