Adults with learning disabilities supported by L'Arche Brecon are benefiting from a "supportive, inclusive and respectful" community where people are encouraged to build relationships, make choices about their lives and play an active role in the wider community, according to the recent inspection by Care Inspectorate Wales.

Inspectors rated the service as ‘Good’ in all areas and found no areas requiring improvement, highlighting the positive and trusting relationships between people supported by L'Arche and the team of support workers and volunteers who share life with them.

From welcoming hundreds of visitors to its annual Summer Fayre to supporting people to develop their talents and interests through relationships with local volunteers, L'Arche continues to create opportunities for people with and without learning disabilities to share friendship, creativity and community life in and around Brecon.

The inspection highlighted the strong community connections developed by L’Arche and the support people receive to maintain relationships, pursue their interests and participate in activities that matter to them.

Jill Farmer, Community Leader at L'Arche Brecon, said: "At L'Arche, we believe everyone has gifts to share and everyone deserves to belong. We're delighted that the report recognises what the people with and without disabilities in our community work hard to create every day. I feel very proud to represent such a great group of people."
