KNIGHTON’S Tref-y-Clawdd rugby team have been presented with a special shirt in memory of a former player who died on holiday in Thailand.
Stewart Middleton died fallowing a fall while on holiday with friends in Thailand in February.
He had played for Tref-y-Clawdd and after the team’s fixture against Cwmcarn RFC on Saturday the Gwent side’s captain presented the Trefy players with a special shirt with the name Stew and number 8 on the back in memory of the former player.
Trefy captain Danny Birch and Nick Davies, a friend of Stewart who was on holiday with him when he died, accepted the shirt.
Player Seb Barrett said: "Thank you very much to Cwmcarn RFC on a good game of rugby and presenting the club with the shirt. This means a lot to the club and is very much appreciated by all."
