A TODDLER was bitten on the nose during a family lunch at The Laughing Dog pub.

The four-year-old boy was sat in the beer garden of the popular pub with his parents and two older siblings when the dog 'snapped' and bit him.

The sign above the door of the free house, in Howey, near Llandrindod Wells, shows a grinning dog holding a beer tankard and baring its teeth.

Landlord Kim Pruett, 40, however sat looking glum in the dock at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates Court where he admitted being the owner of a dog that was dangerously out of control.

The bench, who heard the boy did not require further medical treatment, said they accepted the collie had acted 'out of character' and placed restrictions on the animal, including a requirement it must wear a muzzle.
