A special fundraising concert organised by the local society “Living with Dementia“ is set to take place at Clarence Hall, Crickhowell, on Saturday, June 14 - and it will be captured on film for a Sky Arts documentary.
The event will feature the acclaimed Beaufort Male Voice Choir accompanied by the Ebbw Valley Brass Band, performing a diverse programme of choral and brass music. Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm start.
“Living with Dementia” is a Crickhowell-based society dedicated to supporting projects and initiatives aimed at helping those affected by dementia, as well as raising awareness of the condition. The society was set up and is run by Suzan and Mike Alderton, who have raised thousands of pounds for dementia charities and supported projects, including the monthly Caffi Croeso at Maes-y-Ffynon.
The concert’s proceeds will go directly to these important projects and charities, helping to improve the lives of patients and their families.
Yeti Television will be filming the Crickhowell concert s part of a new documentary exploring the Beaufort Male Voice Choir.
Attendees at the concert are advised that filming will be taking place throughout the event. Anyone who prefers not to appear on camera is asked to notify a member of the film crew upon arrival to ensure their wishes are respected.
Tickets for the Clarence Hall concert are priced at £18 and can be booked directly by contacting Suzan via phone, text, or WhatsApp on 07876 085769, or by emailing [email protected]. Early booking is recommended due to strong local interest.
The evening will also feature a licensed bar provided by The Dragon Inn.
The upcoming concert has received generous support from local sponsors Mechanic, Gabb & Co, and Lewis and Logan, whose support will help maximise the funds raised for dementia care and awareness.
