Llangattock Green Valleys CIC is set to undertake consultations with the community on a number of large-scale renewable energy projects.

There will be several local events on developing plans for a number of community owned renewable energy projects in the Crickhowell, Llangattock, Llangynidr, Cwmdu, Tretower and Vale of Grwyney areas - with the support of a grant from the Making a Difference in Powys fund.

The first event takes place this Saturday May, 11 (10.30am – 1.30pm) in Llangattock Community Hall.

The other events take place at Cwmdu Village Hall (May 18), Llangynidr Village Hall (June 1), Glangrwyney Village Hall (June 8), Llanbedr Village Hall (June 15) and Upstairs @ CRiC (June 22) - all 10:30am to 1:30pm.

The planning of these schemes begins with the views of local communities and drop-in discussions will influence the kinds of projects that are developed.

Llangattock Green Valleys CIC wants to get the thoughts and opinions of as many people as possible.

They are looking to set up an advisory group, representing each community, to guide and advise them on the best way to take the project forward.

If you can’t make it to an event please email any comments or questions to [email protected] or visit the website llangattocgreenvalleys.org

The LGV Community energy Project is part supported by a grant from Bannau Brycheiniog’s Sustainable Development Fund.
