On Sunday, May 5 from 2pm to 5pm, Llangoed Hall hotel do the honours in being the first garden in South Powys to open to the public this year under the National Garden Scheme. This scheme raises money for caring charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Hospice UK, Parkinson’s UK and the Carers’ Trust

Located near Llyswen with superb views of the Black Mountains, the large organic garden features a maze and a croquet lawn – now could be your chance to learn how to play! If instead a gentle stroll is your preference, there are formal herb and rose gardens in a walled area, as well as shrubs and mixed borders, soft fruit, 98 fruit trees and a cutting border. There will also be plants for sale and home made teas.

Admission charge is £4 (children free). Llangoed Hall Hotel garden will also open to the public on Sunday July 7, Sunday August 4 and Sunday September 29 between 2pm and 5pm
