The Llanwrtyd Wells and District Heritage & Arts Centre is set to reopen its doors on April 2nd, marking an exciting new chapter for one of the town’s cultural hubs. Open Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm, the centre welcomes visitors back with a renewed vision, a vibrant programme of activities, and a strong focus on community engagement.
At the heart of this new beginning is newly appointed manager Ashleigh Davies, who brings fresh enthusiasm and ideas to the role. Under her leadership, the centre aims to build on its reputation as a space where local history, creativity, and community come together.Visitors can look forward to an inspiring collection of artists exhibiting their work in the gallery, showcasing a diverse range of styles and talents. The exhibitions promise to highlight both established and emerging creatives, reinforcing the centre’s commitment to supporting the arts in mid-Wales.
Families are especially well catered for this season. A variety of children’s activities will run throughout the opening period, including colouring stations and an engaging indoor quiz. Young visitors who complete the quiz will be rewarded with a special frog sticker, adding a fun incentive to learning about local heritage.
Beyond the walls of the centre, the popular outdoor heritage trail returns, offering an interactive way to explore the history of Llanwrtyd Wells. Children who complete the trail will receive a special rucksack, making the experience both educational and memorable.
Community collaboration is also a key highlight of this year’s programme. The centre will be co-hosting events with local groups, including a special Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, 4 April, in partnership with Friends of the School Ysgol Dolafon.
Adding to the significance of this reopening, 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the Heritage & Arts Centre. Over the past decade, it has become a cornerstone of the town, preserving its stories while fostering creativity and connection among residents and visitors alike.
With interactive maps, a heritage trail, a gift shop, and a full programme of exhibitions and activities, the reopening promises something for everyone. As the doors open once again, the centre extends a warm welcome to all—croeso cynnes i bawb—inviting the community to celebrate its past, present, and future together.
