One of the biggest eyesores in Llandrindod Wells has been transformed. An area of waste ground next to the former Automobile Palace in Temple Street was unsightly for years until Cecilia Harman came up with the idea of creating a fence of flowers. Using plastic milk bottles and donated plants, Cecilia and local children have put up more than 70 flower home-made planters. Cecilia said: “I first saw milk bottles being used as planters in the Peak District and thought it was a good idea to brighten up the fencing around the waste ground.” Cecilia has had a great deal of interest and help from people in the local community, including the carnival committee.
