A well-attended coffee morning at Alexandra Hall, Llangammarch Wells earlier this month celebrated a combined 40 years of dedicated service at the village’s Post Office and shop.

Marian Roff, who took over the business on November 1 1999, has provided the community with 25 and a half years of continuous service. Working alongside her, Jenny Griffiths has contributed 15 years of loyal support, helping to ensure the Post Office remained a reliable hub for local residents.

The event, attended by a wide cross-section of the local community, paid tribute to both women’s commitment and hard work. Speaking at the Coffee Morning, Cllr Kay Coldrick, Chairperson of Llangammarch Community Council, highlighted the invaluable role the pair had played in village life and noted how greatly they would be missed.

As a token of appreciation, Marian and Jenny were presented with an engraved glass vase by the Community Council. In addition, a financial gift and a bouquet of flowers, collected through a community fundraiser over recent months, were also presented to the duo.

Marian and Jenny took the opportunity to thank everyone for their generosity and kind words, wishing the community well for the future.
