Brecon Little Theatre is set to take the Theatr Brycheiniog stage by storm next week with their production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the legendary rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Loosely based on the Gospels' accounts of the Passion, Jesus Christ Superstar reimagines the final days of Jesus of Nazareth with a modern edge, blending biblical themes with rock music and modern staging, all while allowing the audience to connect with deeply human characters. This is a story of faith and betrayal, told with passion and power.

Brecon Little Theatre’s production is expertly directed by Freyja Duggan, with musical direction led by Chris Rankin.

The production features a cast and orchestra of around 90 local performers, ranging in age from 8 to over 60.

Leading the cast are Dan Price as Jesus, Nia Roberts as Judas Iscariot and Hattie Phillips as Mary Magdalene, each bringing powerhouse vocals and emotional depth to their roles.

“Directing this show has been a privilege,” said Duggan.

“The incredible cast has worked hard to bring this production to life, with exceptional performances from our members.

“This show is unlike anything we’ve done before, and I couldn’t be prouder. Don’t miss it!”
