A 23-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the death of a serving member of the Armed Forces.
He is being held in custody on suspicion of murder and the investigation is on-going.
Large areas of Brecon town centre were sealed off on Sunday as police investigated the death of the soldier in the early hours of the morning.
Police in Brecon are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Lion Street, Bethel Square, Tredegar Street and High Street between 12.30am and 1.30am, or has any information that could assist with the inquiry, to call police on 101 immediately quoting reference number DP-20160508-024.
