A MAN died in a crash which closed the A470 in Radnorshire yesterday, police have confirmed.

The 42-year-old died at the scene of the crash which involved a car and a lorry near Argoed Mill and shut the road between Rhayader and Newbridge-on-Wye.

The road hadn’t fully reopened this morning with the North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency tweeting this morning one lane was closed and temporary traffic lights are in place.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police attended a collision between a car and a lorry on the A470 between Rhayader and Newbridge-on-Wye at 6.20am today on Thursday, September 7.

"Sadly a 42-year-old man died at the scene of the collision. His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his family."

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police on 101.
