Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed they had found 51-year-old Ceri Williams who had not been seen since 10.40am this morning.
The search focused mainly on the river area near Llanfaes bridge in the centre of Brecon.
At 1pm a spokesman from the police said: "We can confirm that Ceri Williams from Brecon has been located safe and well.
"We thank you for your re-tweets and valuable assistance with this appeal."
