AFTER a successful 25 years of distributing monies raised from recycling waste, the last presentation of monies from the Llandrindod Wells Recycling Group was made last week.

Over the years the group have donated in excess of £100,000 to other groups in the town.

The last presentation saw a £5,000 donation split between the Air Cadets, Blind and Visual Impaired Group, Llandrindod Dragons, Indoor and Outdoor Youth Bowling, Young Carers, Scouts, Guides, Youth Eisteddfod, Llandrindod Carnival, Youth Market, Silver Band and Messy Church.

The group also paid for a defibrillator to be installed outside the Indoor Bowling Club.

The cheques were presented jointly by Sheila Richards, the patron of the recycling group and committee member Keith Tampin.

At the conclusion of the presentation’s at the Llandrindod Wells Bowling Club a raffle was held for the balance of monies left in the account and this was won by the Llandrindod Wells Silver Band, who were presented with a further cheque of just over £400.
