OVER 600 people dressed in blue gathered at Montgomery Cricket Club to pay tribute to a young farmer who went missing at the Royal Welsh show.

The celebration of the life of 19-year-old James Corfield from Montgomery included a blue dress code and blue balloons were put up as it was the colour he wore when he went missing. Mr Corfield was meant to meet with his family at the Royal Welsh showground where he had been camping with friends, however he failed to show up.

Mr Corfield, who was a member of the Montgomery Young Farmers Club, had not been seen since he had left the White Horse Pub, Builth Wells, in the early hours of Tuesday, July 25. He was recovered from the river Wye in Builth Wells after a five-day search which included hundreds of volunteers and the emergency services.

An inquest into the death of Mr Corfield has been opened and adjourned. The full hearing will take place on Friday, November 10.
