A motorcyclist who was killed in a crash involving a car on the road between Llanbister and Llananno has been named.
Edward Ashley Layzell was pronounced dead at the scene on the A483 to Crossgates on Sunday, May 5.
The 26-year-old’s body has been formally identified and the inquest has now been opened and adjourned.
Tribute has been paid to Mr Layzell, who was also known by loved ones as Ted, by his family.
They said: “Ted was one of a kind, the joker of the pack, always laughing and fooling about.
“However underneath the bravado was the kindest, warmest young man you could wish to meet.
“He was loved by all who knew him and the world is a dimmer place without him, he will be so missed.”
Mr Layzell, of Gloucester, was riding a white Aprilia motorbike when it was involved in a crash with a grey Volkswagen Touran MPV.
The man who was driving the MPV was taken to hospital with serious injuries. There was also two children in the car who were taken to hospital as a precaution.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said that the investigation into the fatal road traffic collision is ongoing.
